Storytime

LubutoStorytime is a beloved read-aloud program offered at least three times each day in all the libraries. Being read aloud to is known to be the single best way of building reading skills and motivation in children, yet many Zambian children--especially those who are out-of-school--may never have the experience of being read aloud to for pleasure. Consequently, LubutoStorytime is a critical resource for those young people. Library staff and volunteers are given guidance to know how to read aloud to children in interactive ways that make it enjoyable and help build literacy skills.
