Open Football

Open Football is LLP’s newest program, which grew from a donation of football equipment from a supporter who owns a football club in Italy. All of LLP’s programs are designed to give young people a start and to be accessible to all. So Open Football uses library resources – biographies of footballers and books about football around the world, videogames that teach football strategy and fun, and experienced football teachers to attract young girls and boys to try football and learn the basics. We liaise with nearby youth football clubs where children can join teams if they decide they are interested after an introduction at the Lubuto library. Open Football is offered weekly at the Model Library.
