LubutoMovietime

Movietime is our perennially popular screening of age-appropriate, high-quality films, geared separately for younger and older viewers. Since the films have always attracted large crowds, LLP is introducing a larger space, the Multipurpose Center, that can accommodate different age groups, provides optimal conditions to view films during the day, and can make more frequent film screenings possible. LLP has approximately 300 films on DVD that are shared among the Lubuto libraries and identifiable via Lubuto’s online catalog. As an adjunct to the film showings, a tradition was invented and driven by library users of having a short dance or singing performance before screenings. DVDs are displayed on Mondays for children and teens to select which films they want to see next. Films are shown on Friday afternoons for younger children and Saturday morning for older teens and young adults.
