Musopa Kalenga joined Lubuto in October 2016 as the Scholarship Program Associate under the DREAMS Innovation Challenge grant. Her interest in the great potential of Africa’s youth informed an essay she successfully entered into the World Bank’s “Blog4Dev” competition, which resulted in her participation in the “Building Human Capital in Africa” event at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. in April 2019. Her winning essay reflects her personal focus on promoting girl child education and writing about developmental issues.
Prior to this, she worked with various NGOs promoting Girl Child Education in Zambia, and she was appointed as one of the DREAMS Ambassadors in Zambia by PEPFAR after winning a writing competition. In 2016, she was also selected as the winner of the Time Capsule Competition launched by the United Nations Industrial Organization (UNIDO) and the world’s largest youth-led organization, AIESEC. Because of this, she was invited to represent African youth at UNIDO’s 50th anniversary conference, held at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Development from Mulungushi University in Zambia.
