has partnered with Lubuto to offer a twice-weekly performing arts program to Lubuto Library children in Lusaka. The program is being carried forward as a Story Performance Program by Kenneth Hau. Their programs instill a sense of achievement and confidence in the participants, inspiring interest or inclination to the arts.
BDO Spencer Steward provides critical pro bono support
to Lubuto�s Regional Program Office in developing accounting systems and
preparing tax submissions.
European Union, Delegation
of the European Commission to Zambia
has very generously assisted the Lubuto Project in transporting library and art
supplies and the One Laptop Per Child XO laptops for the Fountain of Hope Lubuto Library as well as donating caps
for a performance at our opening event.

Hellenic Association of Zambia and its
members have been very generous donors to Lubuto in Zambia. Their support of
the opening event for our first library at the Fountain of Hope, renting a tent
and providing chairs, literally made it possible for us to introduce Lubuto
Libraries to Zambia.
Matantala Rural Development Enterprise is our host partner for one of our next Lubuto Libraries, in the southern province village of Nabukuyu.
Project Concern International Zambia
has provided logistical support to widen our reach and make programs they support available through our libraries. Through the USAID-funded �Support of Community Led Initiatives (SoCLI)� program, they have provided financial support that allows scores scores of vulnerable children to participate in our life-changing Motivational Mentoring Program.

Hotel, Cairo Road, in Lusaka has given a very generous discounted rate for Lubuto volunteers on short-term visits to work with our libraries. This kind support makes volunteering with our libraries in Zambia affordable, and it underscores their commitment to the Lusaka community: “Protea Hotels is dedicated to ensuring the longevity of our business for generations to come, through responsibly managing our impact on the environment, our employees and the communities in which we operate.”
Southern Sun Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn Lusaka) made it
possible for hundreds of street kids and other vulnerable children to
celebrate the opening of the first Lubuto Library by providing and serving
meals to each and every one of them � and will continue to help Lubuto
serve vulnerable children.
Plascon kindly donated paint to put
the finishing touches on the first Lubuto Library.
SPAR Supermarketsvery generously supported the opening of our second library on 10 November 2010 by providing beverages and groceries that allowed us to give each child attending the event a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a beverage, and have water available for adults who attended.

first corporate partner in Zambia, generously contributed toward construction of
the first Lubuto Library.
University of Zambia, School of Library Studies
faculty and students have given generously of their volunteer time to
assist in establishing the first Lubuto Library. We will continue to work
with them to bring Lubuto�s innovative model to the country and region.
The Zambian National
Visual Arts Council , in partnership with the Lubuto Library Project, sponsored an exhibition of art at the Henry Tayali
Gallery in Lusaka by children in the Lubuto Library Visual Arts Program in February 2009.
U.S. Embassy American Center, Lusaka,
Zambia hosted the Zambian premiere of Lubuto�s film Kids Just Like You,
and has given Lubuto other logistical and communications support in establishing
our organization and program in Zambia.
Zambia Library Association mobilized member
volunteers to work with the first Lubuto Library during National Library
Week in 2006. Since that time, we have worked closely with ZLA as we
bring new dimensions and opportunities for the contribution of the library
profession to Zambia�s development.

Ministry of Sport, Youth and Child Development
Both Ministries provide guidance and direct support to Lubuto
Libraries, and we are grateful for the confidence they place in us
as we work to provide equitable access to rich educational resources
to Zambia�s vulnerable children.
